English Teacher

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Senior English teacher to join our dynamic Secondary School team. This role involves delivering engaging English curriculum across Years 7–12, inspiring students to develop strong literacy skills and a love of learning.

Work Load: Full Time

Employment Basis: Fixed Term Contract - 2026

 
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons aligned with curriculum standards.

  • Create engaging learning experiences that cater to diverse student needs.

  • Engage with students, staff, and parents to foster strong relationships.

  • Assess and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.

  • Integrate technology effectively into teaching and learning.

Professional Practice and Learning
  • Deliver effective, inclusive, and differentiated teaching aligned with curriculum standards and Lutheran values. 

  • Create a nurturing, learner-centred environment that supports student wellbeing and academic growth.

  • Collaboratively plan, implement, and evaluate curriculum and pedagogy; assess and report student progress.

  • Engage in ongoing professional learning to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.

  • Contribute to the professional life of the College through collaboration and supervision. 

  • Provide pastoral care and build positive relationships within the College community. 

  • Maintain current knowledge of pedagogy, curriculum, and Lutheran education frameworks.

  • Share expertise and collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching and learning.

  • Engage in school renewal and professional development processes

Selection Criteria
  • Commitment to the Christian ethos and values of the College, supporting its mission and community life.

  • Demonstrated experience teaching English in a secondary school - Senior English preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of curriculum and assessment requirements.

  • Ability to engage and motivate students.

  • Ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning.

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
