Position Objectives

As a Cleaner, your main responsibility will be to uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the premises ofthe College. Your role is essential in creating a safe and healthy learning environment for both students and staff.

Key Functions, Accountabilities, Responsibilities and Deliverables:
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform cleaning duties as rostered with limited supervision and co-operatively participate as an effective team member.
  • Clean and sanitise toilets, classrooms, hallways, and other common areas as required.
  • Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
  • Dust and wipe down furniture, surfaces, equipment and fixtures, including dusting of high surfaces.
  • Emptying trash bins.
  • Restocking supplies such as toilet paper, soap dispensers, and paper towels.
  • Report any maintenance or repair issues to the Supervisor.
  • Operating and maintaining cleaning equipment.
  • Ensuring that all cleaning tasks are completed within designated time frames.
  • Supporting other staff members in maintaining a clean and organised school environment.
  • Performing cleaning duties using specialised equipment.
  • Be aware of the need for security in relation to rooms and buildings, property and equipment.
  • Respond quickly to spill and accidents involving bodily fluids, only when required.
  • Pressure cleaning.
  • Window and glass cleaning.

 

Requirements
  • Demonstrate experience in commercial cleaning, preferably in a school or educational environment, including knowledge of cleaning products and techniques for various surfaces and areas.
  • Proven ability to work with a high level of attention to details and thoroughness, ensuring that all areas of the College are cleaned to a high standard.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform physical tasks required for cleaning, including lifting and moving furniture, cleaning equipment and supplies, as well as standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team environment, taking direction from the Property Manager and your Supervisor and working collaboratively with other cleaners to ensure all areas of the College are cleaned thoroughly and efficiently.
  • Proven record of reliable attendance, punctuality, and consistency in the quality of work performed.
  • Undertake a Chemical Induction (Hunters) and any other inductions that is important to safety of yourself and the workplace.
  • Understanding Safety Data sheets.
