We acknowledge and pay respect to the Kombumerri people who are the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and learn. We would like to pay our respects to all Elders past, present and emerging as they hold the memories, traditions, culture and hopes of our Indigenous people.

I can’t believe it has been 18 years since I graduated from St Andrews Lutheran College.

My family had been part of the St Andrews community since the early days with my older brother Josh in the first St Andrews graduating class. After I graduated in 2001, I left for overseas and spent four years travelling the world, working in London and Canada as well as doing volunteer work in Borneo and Peru. I always knew I wanted to do Social Work and seeing the world cemented this for me so I moved back to Australia and started a Bachelor or Social Work at RMIT in Melbourne. During my University days I met my now husband Hamish and we moved back to Gold Coast. I am now an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, working in Child and Adolescent Acute Mental Health at Tweed Hospital. I absolutely love my job and couldn’t imagine doing anything else. It is such a privilege to be part of young people’s lives, as they navigate tough times, grow and learn.  We are blessed with two little lads, William and Sonny and live in the gorgeous seaside town of Cabarita Beach in northern NSW. As you can imagine life is pretty busy for us.

There is no doubt that St Andrews influenced who I am today. My fond memories of the supportive, caring and encouraging St Andrews community stands out for me. When people ask me what school I went to, I am always proud to say St Andrews Lutheran College.
