Outside School Hours Care

Welcome Families,

This is an information email for families who will be requiring Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) in 2018.

The Outside School Hours Care operates daily from Monday to Friday from 3:00-6:00pm. The Vacation Care program runs throughout the holiday periods from 7:00am-6:00pm. This has been established as a service to the St Andrews families and provides a positive, safe and stimulating environment for students whose families are unable to collect them at the end of the school day due to work or other commitments.

Students meet the Outside School Hours Care staff in the under-croft area at 3:00pm (all prep children are collected from their classroom). The roll is then marked and the children are provided with a light afternoon tea snack. They are then offered a variety of activities including indoor and outdoor games, craft, group time, homework and reading.

To complete the enrolment process please click on the links below, making sure to include a copy of your child’s immunisation records. (This can be accessed by the MY GOV website OR a copy retrieved from your GP/immunisation nurse OR click on this link to the Australian Immunisation Register and follow the instructions https://www.humanservices.gov.au/individuals/services/medicare/australian-immunisation-register

Please note: Personal Health Records (the red book) from QLD Health is not acceptable proof of immunisation because it only contains handwritten updates.

These forms can be dropped into the OSHC office (after 12pm) or emailed to the address below. (We are located in A Block) If for some reason the links do not load you can also access this information on the school website. Simply go to http://www.salc.qld.edu.au/click on the Community tab and choose OSHC from the drop down menu. If your child has any medical conditions, please have your medical professional complete the appropriate forms (listed below under medical forms).

Each year families are required to re-enrol into the OSHC program, so there is no need to email through your enrolment forms until the end of the year.

Child Care Benefit and Child Care Rebate for families

Child Care Benefit (CCB) is an income tested payment for parents, foster parents or grandparents who have a child in their care attending a child care service approved by, or registered with, the Australian Government.

If you are eligible for CCB (even if you don’t receive an entitlement because you have a high income), you may still be eligible for the Child Care Rebate (CCR). There is no income test for CCR. Families do not need to make a separate claim for the CCR once in receipt of CCB.

To get the CCR you must:

- use approved child care

- be eligible for CCB

- pass the CCB work, training study test

Families who want to receive their CCR as a quarterly payment must claim CCB as reduced fee. This means you have CCB paid directly to your child care service and the fees you pay out of your own pocket are reduced, even if you don’t receive your CCR as a quarterly payment.  You can choose to pay full fees throughout the financial year. However, this will mean any CCR will also be paid as a lump sum at the end of the financial year after you have claimed your CCB.  The Family Assistance Office (FAO) can help you determine your eligibility for child care assistance and other family payments. The FAO can be contacted on 136 150 for the cost of a local call or online at familyassist.gov.au
