It’s been an interesting journey since leaving St Andrews in 2008. I moved to Melbourne at the beginning of 2011 and have been here ever since. Having started out my pursuit of dentistry at Griffith University I was accepted at the University of Melbourne where I completed a Bachelor of Science majoring in Human Structure and Function.

Moving to a new city was an incredible ride, especially trying to both study and work full time (while also trying to make friends and as many trips to the surf coast as possible).

I soon realised that it wasn’t being a dentist that was drawing me to the dental industry, it was the creativity and technology that accompany it! There is so much going on in terms of tech advancements, materials and some crazy behind-the-scenes work that allow dentists to do what they do. I studied a Diploma of Dental Technology at RMIT University where I graduated as the highest achieving student and have been on a path of discovery ever since.

I’m now the General Manager of one of Australia’s leading orthodontic laboratories and have co-founded an orthodontic startup which has just launched called NewSmile - providing an Australian made and owned alternative to Invisalign (watch this space!).

Next year I get to marry the woman of my dreams, Kit, who with our canine companion live with in Richmond (go Tigers!) and can’t wait to see what the future holds for us. We’re definitely not ruling out a potential move to the warmth of the Gold Coast at some stage….
