The Role

The Junior School Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality education and care to students, grounded in the Christian ethos of the College. This role encompasses professional practice, engagement, and ongoing learning. As part of an International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) school, teachers are expected to plan and implement learning experiences using the IB PYP framework, fostering inquiry-based, student-centred education.

Selection Criteria:
  • The ability to design and deliver engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences using the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), ACARA curriculum, and Christian Studies Curriculum Framework.

  • Demonstrated capacity to maintain high standards of teaching practice, classroom management, and student engagement in a learner-centred environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build respectful relationships with students, families, and colleagues, and actively contribute to the College community.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional learning and reflective practice, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to the professional life of the school.

  • Have appropriate ICT skills and a preparedness to integrate ICT skills into the learning process.

  • Have an understanding of and commitment to the Lutheran ethos of the School
