Work Load: Full Time, Term time only

Employment Basis: Permanent

Anticipated Start Date: 14 July 2025 (Term 3)


Learning Assistant - Junior School (Prep)

St Andrews Lutheran College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Assistant to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students and teachers in a vibrant and inclusive school environment, where every child is encouraged to thrive.

As a Learning Assistant, you will work closely with classroom teachers to support student learning, promote independence, and contribute to a positive and engaging educational experience.


Key Functions, Accountabilities, Responsibilities and Deliverables:
Classroom & Student Support
  • Assist teachers with classroom activities and curriculum delivery
  • Support students individually or in small groups
  • Prepare and maintain learning materials and classroom resources
  • Help manage daily routines and classroom organisation
  • Supervise students during break times and playground duties
Resource & Administrative Support
  • Maintain classroom and storeroom supplies, equipment, and learning aids
  • Assist with basic administrative tasks and preparation for school events
  • Monitor and maintain safe, clean, and organised learning environments
Communication & Collaboration
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
  • Communicate effectively and escalate concerns appropriately

What You’ll Bring
  • Certificate III in Education Support (or higher)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Current First Aid Certificate and Blue Card
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Confidence using technology in a learning environment
  • A flexible, team-oriented approach and a genuine passion for supporting students
