Design Technology Teacher Aide (0.68FTE)

We are looking for a part-time Design Technology Teacher Aide who will be in charge of the day to day running of the workshop, tools, machines, IT equipment and stock. A main objective is the safety of students and staff. 

Key duties will include:

  •  Assisting teachers as needed during and after class time
  •  Maintaining all machines and tools to full working order (maintain a regular maintenance program)
  • Management of Material Safety Data Sheet, MSDS.
  • Maintaining and keeping organised all stock (oversee storage of resources, in consultation with HOD)
  • Keeping workshop tidy and safe (at all times)
  • After classes, clean up and make sure that the tools are away and everything else back in its place
  • Performing playground duty and Senior and Junior Expo.

Cleaning Supervisor 

St Andrews Lutheran College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cleaning Supervisor. This position is a new role and offers a full-time opportunity to work in a school environment from Monday to Friday 11:00am to 7:00pm (with the change of roster in school holidays to sit between the hours of 7:00am and 4:00pm.)

As a Cleaning Supervisor, you will lead a team of cleaners to ensure that the cleanliness and hygiene standards at St Andrews Lutheran College are maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily cleaning operations throughout the College premises
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, implementing and maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Train, mentor, and manage the cleaning staff, providing guidance and support to maximise their performance and efficiency
  • Oversee the inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring their availability and proper utilisation
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify areas requiring attention and promptly address any cleaning issues
  • Collaborate with the Property Service Manager to fulfill specific cleaning requirements for events or activities
  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, staff attendance, and equipment maintenance

Selection Criteria: To be considered for the Cleaning Supervisor position, candidates should meet the following criteria:
Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a school or similar setting, with a comprehensive understanding of cleaning procedures and standards
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities, including the capacity to motivate and guide a team effectively, providing clear instructions and support to achieve desired outcomes
Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail, ensuring all cleaning tasks are performed meticulously, maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the College premises  
Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational skills to manage cleaning schedules, supplies, and equipment efficiently, ensuring smooth operations and timely completion of tasks
Communication: Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise professionally and collaboratively with staff, students, and other stakeholders
Problem-Solving: Proficiency in identifying cleaning issues, proposing practical solutions, and taking prompt action to resolve them efficiently
Flexibility: Availability to work the specified hours to accommodate the College's operational needs
Reliability: Demonstrated dependability and punctuality in attendance, ensuring the cleaning team is appropriately staffed, and all duties are completed within the designated timeframe

As a Cleaning Supervisor you must hold a valid Working with Children Check Positive Blue Card, prior to starting work.

Cleaners

St Andrew Lutheran College is seeking dedicated and reliable cleaners to be part of our new team.  This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who take pride in maintaining a clean and safe learning environment for students and staff.

As a Cleaner, you will have a vital role in ensuring that our College premises are clean and hygienic. Your responsibilities will encompass maintaining cleanliness in classrooms, corridors, bathrooms, and common areas, in addition to providing assistance with general cleaning tasks.

The applicant would need to possess the following:

  • Be able to follow instructions of the Cleaning Supervisor
  • Be able to work autonomously, with little supervision
  • Be a reliable team player with a positive attitude
  • Committed to safe work practices
  • Must hold a valid Working with Children Check Positive Blue Card, prior to starting work

Shifts

OHSC Casual Staff 

We are looking for new staff members to join our team on a casual basis with shifts offered between 2:30pm – 6:00pm during term time and 6:30 am – 6:00 pm during vacation care. Team members are responsible for running activities, engaging with children and parents as well as providing a safe and familiar environment.

If you have a passion for working with children, enjoy having fun while you work and currently have a BlueCard then we would love to hear from you! This position would suit someone who is studying a Bachelor of Teaching or if you have a Certificate III in Education Support.
