We are looking for a Design and Publications Officer to commence on 2 June 2025 until 19 December 2025.
This is a full time, six-month Fixed Term Contract position with additional hours as required.
In this role, you will be responsible for major College publications (both online and print) and for preparing communications for the broader community, while actively engaging in College life and championing its ethos and culture.
Position Objectives:
The Design and Publications Officer is appointed by the Principal and acts under the day to-day direction of the Director of Enrolments and Community Engagement.

Key Functions, Accountabilities, Responsibilities and Deliverables:
Design / Publications
- Apply knowledge to manage the design, development, and distribution of publications, including but not limited to advertisements, signage, journals, flyers, prospectus and magazines/yearbooks and PowerPoint.
- Layout, proofread and edit the Digital Journal to a publishing ready stage.
- Design, layout and proofread all major College publications including ‘The Andrian’ to print ready stage.
- Responsible for maintaining the College's Corporate and Visual Identity throughout all Design work, Publications and Communications to ensure continuous progression and strengthening of the College's brand and image.
- Oversee and coordinate the production of corporate printed materials including but not limited to the College Handbook, Parent Information Nights, Programs (e.g. Presentation Night).
- Responsible for the production of other specialist publications as required (e.g. Presentation Night Programs, Subject Selection Booklets, PowerPoints). .
- Oversee layout (artwork, design, photography) and check content for accuracy and errors
- Develop a periodic website maintenance plan and review and update content information.
Communication
- In conjunction with the Principal, Senior Leadership Team and Director of Enrolments and Community Engagement design and publicise community-based functions, activities, and newsworthy items.
- Responsible for writing or sourcing copy and imagery as required.
- Utilise the College App, College Portals, College Website and social media as a means of Communication and Community Engagement.
- Assist with regular media releases for distribution to all media. Releases must have the prior approval of the Principal or his/her delegate.
- Develop and update College marketing and promotional material.
- Regularly review communications with College stakeholders and the broader community including various publications and online communications.
Website
- Review and maintain the College Website periodically in consultation with the Principal, Deputy Principals and Director of Enrolments and Community Engagement.
- Ensure the St Andrews website is a source of information and is an instrument to attract and engage potential parents and students.
- As requested, provide reports and updates to the Director of Enrolments and Community Engagement in relation to online engagement.
Photography and Videography
- Seek out appropriate photographic and video opportunities to ensure a quality annual record of the College is kept.
- Carry out research and preparation for a film or photo shoot.
- Assist staff when required to source or take images and video.
- Edit photos and videos as required to produce quality content.
- Maintain photographic libraries/gallery (electronic and physical): labelling and categorising, ensuring that only required content is retained.
Other Duties
- File Management- maintain logical and organised filing and archiving of Publications Department files.
- Assist with visits to the College by media representatives.
- Work with the Principal and the Director of Enrolments and Community Engagement in the ongoing review and development of all College promotional material, making recommendations designed to improve the marketing impact of the material.
- Other duties as may be reasonably required by the Principal and Director of Enrolments and Community Engagement.
Educational / Vocational Qualifications
- Qualifications in design and production of publications.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Current Positive Notice Blue Card for Child Related Employment.
- Must satisfy all visa requirements for working in Australia.
