We are delighted to announce that Terri Myles, Head of Business and Secondary Teacher, has been named among Australia’s most innovative educators for her outstanding contribution to future-focused learning.

The Educator’s Hot List recognises the ‘movers and shakers’ in Australia’s education industry, celebrating achievements that range from designing new curricula and pioneering teaching methods to a sustained commitment to mentoring and community engagement. Terri’s inclusion highlights her exceptional leadership in designing learning that empowers young people to make meaningful contributions beyond the classroom.
Over the past two years, Terri has been the driving force behind the College’s entrepreneurial learning pathway, designing not one but two groundbreaking subjects: INNOV8 and IMAGINE.
Introduced in 2024, INNOV8 is a dynamic Year 8 subject that builds students’ entrepreneurial confidence. Through ideation, minimum viable product (MVP) creation, and pitching, students develop the courage to take risks, learn from feedback, and present their ideas with confidence. This subject laid the foundation for a culture of creativity and enterprise, giving students the tools to explore possibility and problem-solving in authentic ways.
Launched in 2025, IMAGINE takes this journey further in Year 9 by embedding enterprise with empathy. The program equips students with eight core competencies – Creativity, Curiosity, Criticism, Communication, Composure, Compassion, Citizenship and Collaboration – and challenges them to use their passions in service of others. Each term focuses on a new competency, explored through workshops, reflection, and service-learning partnerships with organisations. The year culminates in the Imagine Passion Project Showcase, where students present their advocacy campaigns, service initiatives, or innovations to parents, community members, and stakeholders.
Together, INNOV8 and IMAGINE form a carefully scaffolded innovation pathway that not only aligns with the Australian Curriculum’s General Capabilities but also reimagines how these capabilities are taught. Terri is deeply passionate about helping students discover what they love most about learning and life and then guiding them to use that passion for the greater good. She believes education must move beyond content delivery to cultivate entrepreneurial confidence, creativity, and purpose. Her programs encourage students to think of others first, blending social awareness with enterprise in a way that is scalable, sustainable, and deeply human-centred.
Her leadership demonstrates that innovation in education is not about fads or flashy tech, but about creating learning experiences that prepare students to thrive in a changing world. Already, her work is influencing neighbouring schools to consider similar approaches, showing how meaningful, values-driven change can ripple far beyond one classroom.
