We acknowledge and pay respect to the Kombumerri people who are the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and learn. We would like to pay our respects to all Elders past, present and emerging as they hold the memories, traditions, culture and hopes of our Indigenous people.

At St Andrews, we believe in fostering a sense of community and healthy competition through our College Carnivals. These events provide an opportunity for all students, from the Early Learning Centre through to Year 12, to come together and showcase their skills and sportsmanship.

College Carnivals

ELC to Year 3

Students in the Early Learning Centre to Year 3 actively participate in our Mini Cross Country and Mini Games Carnivals. These exciting events are held on campus and are led by our Junior School Leaders. Through these carnivals, our youngest students experience the joy of friendly competition, develop their skills, and begin to embrace the values of teamwork and sportsmanship.

Year 4 to 12 Carnivals

Students in Years 4 to 12 have the privilege of representing their respective Houses in our Intra-School Carnivals including Swimming, Cross Country, and Athletics. These carnivals allow students to showcase their athletic abilities and contribute to their House's overall performance. These carnivals foster a sense of camaraderie and healthy competition among our students.

Representative Carnivals

We recognise and celebrate the achievements of our students who excel at the Year 4 to 12 carnivals. These exceptional performers are given the opportunity to represent St Andrews at the highly competitive 10-19 Years Hinterland District Sport Carnivals. From there, students can progress further, potentially earning selections in Regional, State, and even National teams.

Students in Years 4 to 6 have additional opportunities for representation through our Inter Lutheran Carnivals teams. These teams are selected based on performance at the College Carnivals in Swimming, Cross Country, and Athletics. Selected students compete in the Southern Lutheran Associated Primary Schools (SLAPS) carnivals in a spirited and competitive environment.

College Carnivals play a vital role in promoting physical activity, fostering a sense of belonging, and developing important life skills in our students. These events encourage participation, teamwork, and personal growth, and they contribute to the vibrant and inclusive spirit of our College community.

Our carnivals program also offers pathways for talented athletes to progress to higher levels of competition. We take pride in supporting and nurturing the aspirations of our students, helping them reach their full potential in their chosen sports.
