St Andrews Lutheran College is seeking a dedicated and proactive Grounds Person to join our Facility Services and Maintenance team. This role is essential in maintaining the safety, functionality, and visual appeal of our beautiful campus grounds, including gardens, lawns, sporting fields, and outdoor spaces.

You’ll play a key part in creating a welcoming and inspiring environment for students, staff, and the wider College community.

About the Role

As Grounds Person, you will:

  • Maintain lawns, gardens, sporting fields, and hardscapes to a high standard.

  • Undertake mowing, edging, pruning, planting, mulching, and weed control.

  • Prepare and maintain sporting fields for events, including line marking and turf care.

  • Support seasonal planting and sustainable gardening practices.

  • Assist with minor repairs, event setups, and general outdoor maintenance.

  • Operate and maintain tools and machinery safely, following WHS protocols.

  • Work collaboratively within the Property Services team to support College operations.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who is:

  • Experienced in grounds maintenance, landscaping, and horticulture.

  • Skilled in using groundskeeping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.).

  • Physically fit and capable of outdoor manual work in all weather conditions.

  • A team player with a service-oriented mindset and strong communication skills.

  • Organised, detail-focused, and proactive in identifying and solving problems.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Current driver’s licence (LR licence desirable).

  • White Card and Elevated Work Platform certification.

  • Qualifications in Horticulture or Parks & Gardens (highly regarded).

  • Basic computer literacy and First Aid certification (desirable).
